Our Methods

  • We follow guidelines set by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. Their position statements can be read at dacvb.org
  • Compassionate, Patient, Positive, Confidence Building, Fear Free
  • Least Invasive Minimally Aversive protocol. Reduces/eliminates or prevents aggression and anxiety.
  • No electronic collars or chain/choke collars.
  • Reward based. Food treats, toys, access to playtime, etc may be used for positive reinforcement. (Don't worry, we fade out treats as your puppy progresses and matures.)
  • Game based. Training should be fun!
  • Boundaries. Clear, consistent rules and boundaries to prevent confusion and mistakes. Set them up for success!
  • Proper exercise and mental enrichment can prevent many behavioral challenges.
  • We believe training starts the moment you bring your puppy home because they are always learning. Ideally, the breeder or rescue starts some potty training, handling, and maybe more before you bring your puppy home.

Christina Stoddard

A lifelong animal lover, Christina has cared for many animals from dogs to ferrets, rabbits, and lizards. She has a natural care taking quality and is so observant to the dogs in our care. She helps keep our schedule, feeding, walks, and potty breaks when Ashley cannot be there. She practices basic obedience cues with everyone and makes sure everyone practices their manners. We are so thankful and continually impressed at her commitment to the dogs in our care!
